Return to investigative practice
Are you looking to return to policing?
Page Content
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has increased awareness of the importance and benefits that rejoiners can bring to the service. As a result of this more forces are developing or broadening their rejoiner programmes and, as part of the national response to COVID-19, we are supporting the development of new guidance for forces and re-joiners. This work is taking priority over our previous Return to Investigative Practice (RTIP) project.
If you are interested in returning to policing you should contact the force or forces you are interested in directly.
For further details on the change to Police Regulations, read our rejoiner guidance and dedicated rejoiners support page.
Return to investigative practice (RTIP) pilot
The Return to Investigative Practice (RTIP) pilot was launched in Spring 2019 with the aim of identifying and reducing the obstacles associated with returning to policing after an extended break. We have worked closely with forces to secure learning in this area and support the return of detectives and investigators back into policing to help address the national shortage of detectives and investigators.
The RTIP project is now supporting rejoiners through the national policing response to COVID-19.
If you have any questions about our previous RTIP work, then do get in touch.
