​Learners will be able to identify opportunities for using vehicle telematics in an investigation.

Objectives

​On successful completion of this course learners will be able to:

  • demonstrate and explain how to identify different types of vehicle infotainment systems
  • understand and explain the data available from vehicle infotainment systems
  • identify and explain the functionality of vehicle infotainment systems
  • understand and describe opportunities for use of vehicle infotainment systems in the investigative process

Qualification eligibility

Learners in the role of digital media investigator within a dedicated unit or who have responsibilities for digital media investigation as part of their role must have successfully completed the digital media investigator (DMI) Initial learning programme, or another course that provides training to the same level and in the same subjects.

Prerequisites

Experience in the role of DMI or another relevant discipline, eg, digital forensics.

  • officers and staff undertaking the role of digital media investigator within a dedicated unit or who have responsibilities for digital media investigation as part of their role
  • officers and staff undertaking the role of digital forensic practitioners
