Two neighbourhood police officers on duty

We've updated our Safer Streets Fund toolkit to help policing access new funding for interventions to improve safety in public spaces for all.

The Home Office’s Safer Streets Fund provides funding to areas with high levels of crime in England and Wales to invest in proven crime prevention interventions.

The toolkit

The toolkit can help forces and police and crime commissioners (PCCs) to:

  • plan bids to the Safer Streets Fund
  • target resources where they will have the most impact

It can also help operational police officers when considering local interventions in neighbourhoods.

Focus of the latest funding round

The fourth and latest round of the Safer Streets Fund focuses on schemes to reduce violence against women and girls and antisocial behaviour.

To support applications for schemes to reduce violence against women and girls, we've developed two evidence briefings.
