The football spectators order establishes the control period for the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany under the Football Spectators Act 1989.

The control period commences on 4 June 2024, 10 days prior to the tournament’s first match, and concludes when the final match is either completed or cancelled. The final match is scheduled for 14 July 2024.

During the control period, powers under sections 21A and 21B of the Act are exercisable. These powers allow for the detention and referral of people to court for the purpose of issuing a banning order. People subject to a banning order may be required to surrender their passports during a control period under section 19 of the Act.

Bail conditions may also require people to surrender their passports during a control period under sections 14A and 14B of the Act. The order came into force on 26 March 2024.
