This ESRC-funded project will offer an ethnographic analysis of how digital resources and expertise are mobilised to provide intelligence for on-going investigations and aid the prosecution of suspects. It will examine the social, organisational, professional and ethical concerns posed by digital forensic practices.
The analysis will map the production and trajectory of digital evidence and focus on the operational dependencies, occupational tensions and regulatory dynamics.
This study employs an ethnographic analysis.
