Research context
This study researches the process from 'Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)' domestic abuse policy development through to local area application, implementation and front line practice.
The research evolved from a review of numerous studies focusing on the experience of service users at the end of the process but not the experience of understanding, translating and implementing the policy, strategy and action plans from a practitioner perspective. This research seeks to address this gap in the research available.
Research methodology
The methodology involves semi structured interviews with staff at all stages of the process, from policy makers at government level through to local authority/police management, associated management partners and front line practitioners from a number of agencies related to domestic violence policy and strategy. It may be necessary to use a focus group approach for certain occupational groups.
Secondary sources will be used to provide service user evidence such as previous recent studies, social media, internet based research, documentary analysis.
