An overview of the restrictions, offences and fixed-penalty notices for England. And a link to specific regulations for Wales.
The government has announced a four-step road map in England to gradually ease restrictions post lockdown. Each step had a separate set of restrictions and exceptions for gatherings and requirements for business operations. As of 19 July the whole of England is in Step 4.
While Step 4 removes restrictions on gatherings, requirements on business operations and the mandatory wearing of face coverings, requirements in relation to self-isolation and international travel remain in place.
On 16 August, further changes to self-isolation rules came into force. We will continue to monitor and update any relevant changes where necessary.
