As part of the guideline development process, we consult with officers and staff, subject matter experts, law enforcement bodies, partner agencies and police forces. By participating in consultations you can help our work to be better informed.

If you would like to participate, please read the guideline documents and complete the consultation feedback form which can be found on the individual consultation pages.

Please include your name, contact details and organisation on the feedback form, so that we can contact you if we need to clarify any comments. The volume of responses received for each consultation means that we may not be able to respond to individual feedback. All feedback will, however, be considered when developing the final product.

Our open consultations are listed below:

Conflict management using de-escalation, communication and negotiation

De-escalation, communication and negotiation skills form an important part of personal safety training. These guidelines are written for chief officers and learning and development leads, but will affect training for everyone. If you want to influence the way your personal safety training is developed and delivered, we welcome comments from officers and staff of all ranks.

The Conflict management consultation is open from 27 February – 27 March 2019.
