Digital Forensics Managers’ Workshop

Overview

​Evidence of criminality exists on many computers. This 3-day workshop will equip you with the knowledge to effectively manage a unit in this specialised area of work.

Who should attend

​This course is designed for Supervisors and Managers (who have little or no technical background) involved in the supervision, strategy and policy making involved with computer examination units.

Aims

​As recommen​​ded in the ACPO good practice guide for managers of high tech/computer crime units attending this three-day workshop will assist in dealing with such issues as resources, staff welfare, equipment and training. It also provides an excellent opport​unity to network with peers and to speak directly with experts in the field about issues directly affecting you and your unit.

Objectives

After attending this cou​​rse, the participant will be able to:explain how​​ forensic practitioners can obtain and use computer data and online information to assist in investigations understand and explain how network investigators can obtain and use computer data and online information to assist in investigations explain the issues and requirements regarding legislation appertaining to computer-related crime correctly ident​ify all aspects of health and safety in the computer investigation environment explain the management and resource implications of digital crime investigations identify the key is​sues involved in the management of a digital forensics unit identify and implement good practice in line with the advice contained in the ACPO advice and good practice guide for Management of high tech crime units.

Entry requirements

​Delegates will be invol​​ved in the supervision, policies, strategies and management of Digital Forensics units.
