PNC Offence Processing


​Enables staff to develop skills in u​pdating the PNC Names database in relation to arrest / summons reports, remands and associated nominal information; to identify the reasons for keywording; and to explain the back record conversion process.

Who should attend

​Staff who are required to undertake the updating of the offence processing elements of the Names application.

​The student must have passed a Names Enquiry and a Names Update course or their equivalents.

​Classroom based delivery, supported by student notes.

Assessment processes / accreditation details

​Continuous informal ass​​​essment throughout the course.

Formal assessment is also undert​aken by means of a multiple choice theory assessment used to assess underpinning knowledge and a practical assessment used to assess the ability to access PNC, search for records and update the information held within PNC.


​Delegates are awarded a certificate of competence on successful completion of the formal assessment.
