PNC Names Update

Overview

​Enables staff to develop from the PNC Names enquiry level to a standard whereby they can update Names database records in relation to their wanted / missing and disqualified driver elements.

Who should attend

​Those staff who are required to undertake the updating of the wanted / missing and disqualified driver elements of the PNC Names application.

Objectives

​By the end​​ of the course students will have covered the following subject areas:

  • Data s​​ecurity

  • PNC Names database structure and use

  • Adding and updating wanted / missing reports

  • Updating no​​minal details

  • Adding and updatin​​g disqualified driver reports​

  • Directory ta​​bles.

Entry requirements

​A pass on the PNC Names Enquiry course or equivalent.

Methods of delivery

​Classroom based delivery, supported by student notes.

Assessment processes / accreditation details

​​Continuous in​formal assessment throughout the course.

​Formal asses​sment is also undertaken by means of a multiple choice theory assessment used to assess underpinning knowledge and a practical assessment used to assess the ability to access PNC, search for records and update the information held within PNC.

Certification

​Delegates are awarded a certificate of competence on successful completion of the formal assessment.

Qualification and accredi​tation for all courses run can be acquired through Accreditation of Prior Experience and Learning. (APEL) Please call for details.

Course fees do not include accommodation for student. Accommodation is available on site at Ryton and in the local area.​
