Provide mentoring for senior leaders from under-represented groups

This is available to chief officers. Ideally, you will have had mentoring training but it is not essential. 

‚ÄčAs well as helping policing to be the best it can be by encouraging difference, this is an opportunity for you to support the progression and development of future chief officers from under-represented groups by offering to be their mentor.

At the same time, you will benefit by:

  • developing your own mentoring, people skills and experience
  • expanding your professional networks
  • gaining fresh perspectives and new ways of thinking from the people you mentor
  • enhancing your professional profile and continuous professional development
  • embracing an opportunity to reflect on your own practice.
