College quickly reaches 10,000 members milestone

Thousands of officers and staff join their professional body

More than 10,000 officers and staff from across policing have signed up to College membership since it launched in September.

The College's purpose is to provide everyone working in policing with the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent crime, protect the public and secure public trust.  College membership supports officers and staff in their professional and career development.

Member services are provided through a dedicated, secure membership website available  on mobile, tablet or computer.  Benefits include coaching, mentoring, national career opportunities, events, conferences, work shadowing and secondments as well as keeping members up-to-date with the profession.

David Buckle, membership director for the College, said:

"It's extremely pleasing to reach such a significant milestone in such a short space of time.

"Our members are dedicated policing professionals and we are committed to support them in enhancing their skills, undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and developing their careers."
