College launches National Jobs Board

All police job vacancies now available on one site

Officers and staff who have signed up to become College members now have exclusive access to a dedicated website giving details of every job vacancy across policing in England and Wales.

The National Jobs Board launched on Monday, 22 January and provides a dedicated 'one stop shop' which allows College members to search and find out about every current vacancy in policing.

It includes all 43 Home Office forces, British Transport Police, Police Service of Northern Ireland, Civil Nuclear Constabulary, Ministry of Defence Police and others.

The site works by gathering job adverts from police force websites and other organisations and then listing the vacancies online – which users can sort according to staff grades, rank, force or geographical area.

The details of the jobs are provided by the individual forces and applications can be made directly by clicking through a link to the relevant force website for the most up to date recent information.

The jobs board also provides a range of supporting materials for candidates, including guidance on putting together a CV, and advice about interview techniques.

The site has already been welcomed by frontline officers. Superintendent Jon Cummins, of Dyfed-Powys Police (pictured), said: "I think the introduction of a national jobs board is an excellent idea and one that will prove to be of benefit to all officers and staff throughout policing.

"I have transferred forces on two occasions during my service and had to use specialist policing media to identify national opportunities.

"I'm sure the national jobs board will now address this with a one stop shop of all vacancies across policing which can be accessed on the College of Policing member's site. I have found the jobs board to be easy to use with a wide range of roles and opportunities available and I have no doubt that I will use this in the future for my own career development and signpost this to colleagues who seek new challenges."

College members can now access the jobs board online. You can also sign-up to become a member today by visiting the College website.
