What is the College doing to support and develop leaders?

New workshop will give expert advice on developing leadership skills

Officers and police staff are being invited to attend a special event later this month to help them develop their leadership skills so they can continue to inspire and support colleagues.

The Leadership Development Workshop offers officers from the rank of sergeant upwards, and staff equivalents, the chance to take part in a one-day event where they will get expert advice on how to encourage and empower their teams.

The workshop will be led by renowned leadership expert, Professor Beverly Alimo-Metcalfe, and will include discussions and interactive exercises designed to demonstrate how effective leadership can impact on performance within an organisation.

Police leaders face the challenge of improving performance in a climate of increasing and changing demands with reduced resources.

The workshop aims to assist leaders to understand how, by using an engaging leadership style, they can support their colleagues and help them deliver the best possible service to the public.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 25 April at the College site in Ryton and is only available for College members. If you are not yet a member you can sign-up online.

Current members can find out more about the workshop and book their place by visiting the College website.
