Response to State of Policing report 2017

The College of Policing has today (12 June) responded to HMICFRS’ Annual Assessment of Policing in England and Wales.

Chief Constable Mike Cunningham, College of Policing CEO, said: "It is good that the hard work, commitment and bravery of frontline staff has been recognised in today's State of Policing report.
"The report also points to the areas where improvement is needed.
"The College is working with the service to ensure policing develops its awareness of frontline demand and best equips its workforce to meet those needs.
"We will continue to lead and co-ordinate these changes to enable the service to continue to protect the public.
"Policing's most prized asset is its people, who deserve the best possible support, development and leadership."
