Leadership learning roadshow - workshop 2

The demands of modern day policing now more than ever requires individuals and teams that are highly capable, engaged and productive. Managers and leaders play a key role in galvanising team performance and getting the best out of people.

As part of a six-month leadership learning workshop roadshow – running from September 2019 until March 2020 – the College of Policing will deliver five regional 'unlocking the potential of individuals and teams' workshops, which will give you the knowledge and tools to develop and nurture talent to increase overall team performance.

In this workshop we will explore:

  • how you can build a high-performing team
  • how you can develop others to maximise team performance.

Dates and locations

This free-of-charge, one-day workshop runs from 9.30 AM till 3.30 PM and is delivered using local training facilities in five different regions:

All our leadership learning workshops are aimed at team leaders of all levels within policing, who are keen to explore tools and techniques that could help them get the best out of their team and individual team members.

To join one of our workshops near you, please go to leadership.college.police.uk/shop/workshops and sign up for one of the above dates (please ensure you have permission from your organisation/force prior to reserving a spot).

Registration closes four weeks prior to the start date. Joining instructions including recommended pre-workshop preparation and detailed agenda will be shared two weeks prior to the workshop. For any further questions regarding this workshop, email leadershiplearning@college.pnn.police.uk

The 'unlocking the potential of individuals and teams' workshop is split into two distinct sessions: a theoretical morning session and practical afternoon session.

During the theoretical morning session an expert will talk you through key models and theories on performance, coaching and team communication. The practical afternoon session will focus on the application of this theory with a case study by the hosting force, facilitated discussions and action planning exercise.

In small breakout groups, you will also have the opportunity explore topics such as team wellbeing and motivation, spotting and developing talent, delegating and empowering your workforce, or engaging with individuals through great PDRs.
