Development opportunities at the College of Policing

We provide our staff with learning and development through a wide range of methods: on the job, formal study, e-learning and work shadowing, to name a few. Our training provision will give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills.

The College of Policing believes that our employees are our best asset and that our professional standards and technical expertise are the source of our future success.

We are committed to:

  • encouraging a climate of self-improvement and being an example of good practice
  • providing effective learning and development opportunities to enable us to support the delivery of better policing
  • being a place where diverse staff can bring a range of different skills to the common good and share their expertise with colleagues
  • using learning and development to help transform the organisation into a trusted and respected partner of the police service and the Home Office
  • using the College of Policing's own programmes and services where these meet the needs identified (Core Leadership Programme, NCALT Managed Learning Environment modules)
  • gaining maximum value from our training investment.

Staff and managers share responsibility for the development process and are assisted by Human Resource Business Partners and the Organisation Development Team.
