Martyn Slingsby

​Martyn joined the committee as he saw the College of Policing playing a pivotal role in the future of Policing in the UK. He is keen to ensure Police Officers and Staff have the best leadership, training, equipment and technology to undertake their roles. The College, with an active membership, is key to ensuing we are all equipped to provide the best possible service to the public.

Martyn has worked for both Humberside and the Metropolitan Police in many roles including response, neighbourhoods, intelligence, command centres, operations support and corporate development in over 27 years with the Police. Most recently he has been involved in Police Business Change and the introduction of new technology to policing.

He is currently on secondment from Humberside to the Police ICT Company based with the City of London Police where he is a Programme Manager working on a wide variety of national Police IT initiatives. As a result he is involved in work which is forward looking and doing his best to make sure operational officer and front-line staff have the tools that are fit for purpose and make the difficult job of policing easier.
