Chief officer pay and rewards

Information about chief officers' pay and rewards in the 43 police forces of England and Wales.

Senior police leaders' pay and reward packages are published by chief constables and Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) in their annual statements of accounts. This information typically includes salaries, pension entitlements and other expenses paid, including any bonus (including notes where a bonus was applicable but was declined) and any benefit in kind (which relates mainly to vehicle provision, but extends in some cases to healthcare provision or any other similar benefit).

Where salary exceeds £150,000 per annum, regulations provide that the postholder is named. Other senior officers or members of police staff are identified by post or by rank. Salaries of some senior officers and police staff (those earning over £50,000 per annum) are shown aggregated in bands.

This information must be published no later than 30 September after the end of each financial year.
