Women's Leadership Programme

Related Words

The International Academy at Bramshill has successfully supported the development of leaders among senior and high-potential women police officers and staff from across the world for many years. Today, as a core priority, UK policing and the College of Policing are committed to further enhancing and enabling opportunity for talented female leaders within policing globally, to realise their true value and capability within the profession - colleagues who have fced or continue to face barriers and challenge to their professional progression.

Applications are now invited for the latest programme, which will be held at Bramshill on 3rd June - 5th July 2013

The five-week programme will afford senior female police leaders an opportunity to consider their own professional and operational development, and to identify an area of organisational development that they will commit to taking forward in order to improve service delivery in their home force or organisation.

Following the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Review a range of generic factors that influence the career of female officers and staff within the police service.
  • Identify relevant leadership models and theories and practically apply these to exercises, case studies and the operational context.
  • Explore cultural differences and global issues that influence the ability of female employees to realise and release their full potential.
  • Present a considered proposal for the improvement of a specific facet of policing services within their area of specialism or service priority.

This programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a Level 6 Certificate.
