PND - Police National Database

​The Police National Database (PND) is available to all police forces and wider criminal justice agencies throughout the United Kingdom, allowing the police service to share local information and intelligence on a national basis. The PND supports delivery of three strategic benefits which are to safeguard children and vulnerable people, to counter terrorism, and to prevent and disrupt serious and organised crime.

The following learning programmes are available for PND as follows:

  • PND Search User Learning Programme  – is designed to be delivered to individuals who will be required to conduct Person, Organisation, Object, Location and Event Searches on the PND. This learning programme also includes content on the use of the Bulk Search, Facial Search and Advanced Search functionality within the PND. Maximum 10 delegates.
  • PND Advanced Search User Learning Programme – is for those individuals who have previously successfully completed the PND Basic Search User Learning Programme and only need additional training to utilise the Advanced Search functionality within the PND. Maximum 10 delegates.
  • PND Direct Data Entry Learning Programme – is designed for those who will be responsible for adding National Associations and National Markers onto PND Records.  This learning programme will also include content on the creation of skeletal PND records.  A pre-requisite to attending this learning programme is the learner must have successfully completed the PND Basic Search User Learning Programme.  This one day learning programme is delivered solely by the College of Policing.  Maximum 10 delegates. 
  • PND Standard Auditor Learning Programme – is delivered by the College of Policing and a pre-requisite of attending this learning programme is that the learner must have successfully completed the Basic and Advanced Search User Learning Programmes.  This learning programme is aimed at individuals who will be auditing the standard service use of the PND.  Maximum 10 delegates.
  • PND Train the Trainer Learning Programme – is designed for trainers who will be responsible for delivering PND Basic and Advanced Search User Learning Programmes within their organisation.  Trainers are provided with a suite of materials to deliver this training effectively within their organisation.  This learning programme is delivered by the College of Policing only.
