Client Services & Business Development

The key role of the Client Services & Business Development Unit (CSBD) is to deliver the College’s commercial strategy.

We aim to do this in two ways.

Firstly, by developing and strengthening the College’s relationships with our core client base in policing and law enforcement, and develop a mutual understanding of how the College can assist them delivering the best possible service to the public.

Secondly, by identifying and developing new business opportunities with customers who work in other parts of the public sector, as well as the private and third sectors.

Key Business Relationships

In order to invest more of its resources in to delivering more and better services to its core customer base, the CSBD Unit actively looks to maximise the value of products and services from across the College, targeting business opportunities both in the UK and abroad.

Central to our work are the key business relationships with our core client base:-

  • The 43 Home Office Police Forces across England & Wales;
  • Non-Home Office Police Forces in the United Kingdom; and
  • Other Law Enforcement Agencies in the United Kingdom, including the UK Border Agency, Home Office Immigration Enforcement, the Serious Fraud Office and other agencies with law enforcement and / or investigative powers, who use and / or deliver the College’s products and services.

    In addition to our core client base, the CSBD Unit actively seek and develop new business and income opportunities from across the wider public sector as well as the private and third sectors.

Client Services Managers

Once engaged, each Client is assigned a dedicated Client Services Manager (CSM).The CSM’s role is to manage and match the delivery of College products and services to the Client’s particular circumstances and requirements.

Commercial Management

Delivery of College products and services by the College takes place under standard College Terms & Conditions.Depending on the Client’s requirements, it may be possible to arrange for bespoke delivery (subject to re-design charges and / or licensing conditions).These and any other reasonable requirements can be included in the College’s Contract.Your CSM, in co-operation with the Commercial Officer, will be happy to assist.

IPR & Licensing

Delivery of College products and services by an eligible Client takes place under standard College Licences.Eligibility requirements may apply. For enquiries, please contact the IPR & Licensing Manager with a copy to your CSM.
